Located in Solano County, E.B. Stone is one of the nation’s oldest organic fertilizer producers. Founded in 1916 in San Jose, E.B. Stone the company was named for a local farmer, E.B. Stone. He created a fertilizer for his fruit trees that produced bigger and better crops. His fertilizers and amendments became so popular, he turned his attention to his self-named company full time, eventually moving to the Salinas Valley and broadening beyond fruit.

When Stone retired in 1979, he sold the business to the Crandall family, who continue with the same dedication to organic gardening and farming. The business is now based in Suisun City, less than an hour from Sacramento, CA.
