S. and Canada. \nPrior to joining David Austin Roses\, Rebecca served as a garden editor for Southern Living magazine for 15 years. An award-winning writer and designer\, she is an active member of GardenComm\, a non-profit association that provides diverse interactions for professionals in the field of garden communications. \nRebecca has gardened professionally in both the South and the Pacific Northwest Regions of the United States. She served as a judge for the International Rose Trials hosted at Biltmore Estates in Asheville\, North Carolina\, and served as a Society Board member for the North Carolina Arboretum. DESCRIPTION:This is the perfect time to get out in the garden and hard prune your roses. Marin Master Gardener and Rosarian Don Chapman will give a brief talk about necessary tools\, what and why to prune and much more (maybe even how to propagate). Most importantly\, he will demonstrate how\, where\, how far\, and why to prune. Participants will break into small groups and prune a rose under supervision and instruction. \nDress warmly and bring hand pruners and gloves (rose pruning gloves if you have them). \nThis event is held outside and will go on during a drizzle and is only cancelled if it is pouring rain. \nCoffee and snacks will be provided. \nDon Chapman\, Marin Master Gardener and long time Rosarian\, is an expert rose pruner and has taught about pruning for many years.
